May 2012 monthly meeting

Mark your calendar and plan to attend our May meetup beginning at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 31, at Southwest General Hospital. The hospital is located at 7400 Barlite Blvd., which is at the corner of Barlite and SW Military Drive. Our host will be Elizabeth Luna, marketing director for the hospital.

Our March meeting is scheduled for 8:30 a.m., Tuesday Thursday, March 29, at the administrative building of the San Antonio Water System. SAWS is located at Highway 281 North just past East Mulberry Avenue. Our host will be Greg Flores, vice president of SAWS. Please check-in at the lobby.

Correction: The meeting is on Thursday, March 29, and not Tuesday. It would help if I could read a calendar correctly.

SAAHJ announces 2012 award recipients

The San Antonio Association of Hispanic Journalists will honor two San Antonio residents for their contributions to the city and to the journalism industry at its 14th annual scholarship gala beginning at 6 p.m., on Friday, July 20, 2012, at the Grand Hyatt hotel located at 600 East Market Street.
